whew!!!

Well we went through "the gorge" in NC. I would imagine that it is a very pretty ride during the day with the sun shining, but at night in the pouring down rain...well thats a different story. To make things worst, the NOAA came over the cb and said that there was a possibility of freezing rain...okay, God be with us. Coming down the other side is 5 mile @ 35mph because of the steep grade. There are several runaway truck ramps, places where there are flashing lights if you are going too fast (by the way they were flashing), and a place you have to stop to check the brakes. We made it through unscathed, I can't say as much for the car that bounced off the center wall and ended up along side the guard rail on the other side of the road...when we went by them they had climbed over the concrete barrier and was standing in the rain waiting on a tow truck. At least no one was hurt. I hope that we get to go back that way sometime, but during the day so I can take some pictures.

Yikes! Glad you made it through safely. Any word on your new, new truck?

I would have been crawling in the back. It was bad enough going thru there at night in clear weather, I can't even imagine going thru there in rainy weather. You are braver than me but then that doesn't take that much to do.

Love you
